to the semifinals of the NIT Tournament and we will see the George Washington
Colonials take on the San Diego State Aztecs at Madison Square Garden in New

The
George Washington Colonials have had a very nice season as they are 26-10
overall and they have played very well in this tournament in knocking off
Hofstra by 2, top-seeded Monmouth on the road by 1`6 and a very solid SEC team
(Florida) by 5. This is a very good George Washington team that did beat
Virginia earlier in the year. The Colonials have gone 7-3 ATS in their last 10
non-conference games, but they are also just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a
team with a winning % above .600. GW is led by Tyler Cavanaugh, who averages
16.8 ppg and hits 42.4% from long range. 2nd on the team is Patricio Garino, who
averages 14.2 ppg and hits 43.3% from beyond the arc. Rounding out the double
digit scorers on the team is Kevin Larsen at 12.2 ppg, while he hits 48.4% from
downtown and leads the team in rebounding at 8.4 rpg. The Colonials enter the
game ranked 108th in the nation in scoring, putting up 75. ppg, while also
ranking 137th in shooting overall, 69th from long range and 20th from the
charity stripe. The defensive numbers have been decent as they come in ranked
109th in points allowed, giving up just 69.3 ppg, while also ranking 158th
defensive FG% overall and 134th in 3-point defense. The Colonials are 71st in
the nation in rebounding, while they commit just 11.4 turnovers per game (66th)

The
San Diego State Aztecs have had another strong year as they come in at 28-9
overall. They won the MWC regular season, but lost in the conference finals to
Fresno State and so here they are fighting for an NIT Title and they have been
most impressive in the tournament so far in beating IPFW, Washington and Georgia
Tech all by at least 15 points. San Diego State is 7-3 ATS in their last 9
games overall, but they are also just 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games
following a ATS win. The Aztecs are led by Trey Kell, who averages 12.7 ppg and
hits a solid 38.9% from downtown. Leading the team in rebounding is Winston
Shepard at 6.6 rpg and he also chips in with 11.4 ppg, which is 3rd on the team.
Rounding out the double digit scorers is Jeremy Hemsley, who averages 12.2 ppg.
Overall the Aztecs come in ranked 267th in scoring, putting up just 69.2 ppg,
while also ranking 251st in shooting overall, 260th from long range and 221st at
the charity stripe. SDSU is led by their outstanding defense that comes in
ranked 3rd in the nation in points allowed, giving up just 60.5 ppg, while also
ranking 1st in defensive FG% overall and 5th in 3-point defense. The Aztecs are
47th in the nation in rebounding, while they commit 12.3 turnovers per game
(146th) and force 12.1 turnovers per game (209th).
