I'm recommending a play on the NY Jets plus the points on Thursday night.  While Jets' starters are expected to sit, the Eagles will go even a little deeper, not only not playing their starters, but also sitting several key second-string players.  The Eagle defense has been horrible in the second half of preseason games, at least the reserves, who're the players we'll see on the field tonight. Philly will reportedly start Matt Barkley at QB, while Michael Vick will see a little action early-on for Rex Ryan.  I do like the rotation for the Jets slightly, after tonight's starters take a spot on the bench.  The Jets fit a 35-14 preseason NFL spot.  You play on teams with a winning SU record if they're underdogs to a team with a preseason win percentage of .250 to .400.  The teams fit the bill.  We'll recommend a play on the Jets plus the points on Thursday night.  Thanks & GL! The visiting Texas Rangers will send Miles Mikolas (1-5, 7.48) to the hill to face the Mariners for the first time in his career; note that Mikolas has only recorded two quality outings out of nine starts this season, most recently he’s off a loss to the Marlins where allowed three runs over five plus innings. I'm recommending a play on the KC Royals with Ventura over Lewis on Friday.  The hottest team in baseball has a favorable weekend matchup as they look to stay ahead of Detroit in the AL Central.  KC enters on a 22-6 run and they're 14-3 in their last 17 against right-handed starters. Tonight, they'll face Colby Lewis.  The Texas righty is not too hot, overall, but he's been absolutely horrendous at home this season, where he's been saddled with a 7.29 ERA, 1.76 WHIP, and a .351 BAA in 12 home starts.  Texas has won just one of his last seven at home. One of the biggest differences between the current Royals and the pre-all star Royals is that they're able to bring base runners home.  KC has been in or near the top-5 in team batting average for much of the summer, but struggled at times to plate runs.  That's not as much of a problem now...and if they take a lead into the 7th, they're a tough nut to crack.
