07/30 08:10 PM  MLB   (973) SEATTLE MARINERS VS (974) MINNESOTA TWINS
Take: (974) MINNESOTA TWINS.
Reason: Your free play Thursday, July 30, 2015 is in the MLB contest between Mariners and Twins in Minnesota. The Seattle Mariners head to Minnesota with no punch, the No. 25 offense in baseball. J.A. Happ (4.31 ERA) is not throwing well for Seattle with the team 1-9 his last ten starts. Happ couldn't find the strike zone Saturday, allowing three runs on one hit and four walks over 1.2 innings. Phil Hughes has been solid, with the team 7-1 his last eight starts. The Twins are 20-7 in their last 27 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, plus 8-3 in their last 11 home games. Hughes tossed seven shutout innings as the Twins spanked the Yankees 10-1 Friday night. He allowed seven hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out three. Hughes (9-6, 3.93 ERA) has been pitching much better of late after a sluggish start to the year. Known for his command, he didn't walk a hitter in this one, and has now turned in 50 consecutive starts where he has walked three or fewer. He is 7-2 at home and sports a 2.25 ERA against Seattle. Play the Twins.
